 SCOTT K. WILLIAMS, PASTOR

Scott Williams was born to Mildred B. & the late William T. Williams in August of 1963. The early years in Paterson, N.J. where greatly influenced by his relationship with his grandmother, Mildred Barbour. Her belief in God, and the values and outlook associated with such a belief, were quickly rooted in her grandson.

In the fall of 1994, after a long absence from church life, events surrounding a serious automobile accident together with a few other trials and tribulations that he was faced with during that time, and how it all worked out in the end, left him with no doubt that it could only be God, and that it was time to re-establish his relationship with Him. So on a Sunday morning in November of 1994 he walked through the doors of Second Friendship Baptist Church in Newark, NJ, now Friendship Ministries, Inc. and he has been walking with the Lord and through those doors ever since. He officially proclaimed church membership and salvation in November of 1995, and was baptized the following month, under the leadership of his Pastor, Gerald A. Edwards.

During his tenure at Friendship Ministries, Scott has given of his time and talents in many areas of the ministry. He has been a member of the Celestial Choir, served as President of the Men’s Department and as an assistant Sunday school teacher. He has lead bible study sessions on occasion, and has helped out pretty much anywhere a helping hand has been needed. Scott joined the ministerial staff as a minister in training in 1998, and gave his initial sermon in May of 1999; became an ordained minister of the gospel in December of 2003, and in December 2004 was installed as one of two Assistant Pastors.

Scott, and his wife, Stacy are the proud parents of four children: Angela Janay, Kiana Tamar, Bishop Jeremiah and Quentin Messiah.

Minister Williams has tried to live up to Friendship Men’s Department theme scripture:

“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong, Do everything in love.”
1 Corinthians 16:13-14 (NIV)
